Laila is currently an undergraduate student majoring in Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut. She is originally from the Chicago region and graduated from Joliet West Township High School. She has a passion for environmental matters and is collaborating with Ph.D. student, Salman Ahmadipouya, on membrane development for gas separation using the electrospray technique.
