Akanksha Majumder is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Connecticut. She earned her bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta, India.

During her undergraduate studies, Akanksha explored various research areas, including adsorptive removal of phenol, membrane technologies for protein recovery, and bio-oil production through pyrolysis. She also has professional experience as an On-site Operations Engineer in Linde South Asia.

Akanksha joined Dr. Jeffrey McCutcheon's research group in 2025, where her current work focuses on the layer-by-layer deposition of polyelectrolyte complexes using an electrospray process to create highly selective membranes.
