Salman Ahmadipouya

Ph.D. Candidate

Salman Ahmadipouya received a bachelor's degree from Arak University in Arak, Iran, in 2016. He is a researcher passionate about membrane separation processes and their applications in water treatment and gas separation. In 2019, he earned his M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology (SUT) in Tehran, Iran. He worked extensively on membrane processes at SUT and gained valuable knowledge. After finishing his M.Sc., he joined Dr. Arjmand's group at the University of British Colombia, Kelowna, BC, Canada, as a remote researcher working in the application of nanomaterials in adsorption, water remediation, and gas separation.

Salman eventually joined Dr. McCutcheon's group in 2022, where he has been making substantial contributions to the field of membrane research. Salman's key research interests include the development of membranes and their applications in water treatment and gas separation. His research focuses on synthesizing and characterizing nanomaterials such as metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), zeolites, and carbon-based materials, their application in mixed-matrix membranes (MMMs), and membrane separation for various applications.
