Srivatsa Bettahalli (Sri) is an Assistant Research Professor at Connecticut Center for Applied Separations Technologies (CCAST). He has broad experience and interest in liquid and gas separation technologies, mainly membrane based and adsorption technologies. His current research interest is in mixed matrix membrane (MMM) with MOF nano particle fillers.

Srivatsa received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands under the guidance of Prof. D Stamatialis and Prof. M Wessling. He moved back to India as Assistant Professor for couple of years mostly teaching undergraduate chemical engineering students. He then moved to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a Postdoctoral researcher at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), worked in Prof. Suzana’s lab for 3 years mostly on hollow fiber membrane fabrication for liquid separation. Before joining CCAST, he worked as Staff Scientist at Advanced Membranes and Porous Materials Center at (KAUST) for 5years contributing to the focus areas of Prof. Ingo Pinnau and Prof. Mohamed Eddaoudi, mainly working on gas separation with novel polymeric materials, MOF adsorbents, Thin film composite (TFC) membrane, Carbon molecular sieves (CMS), hollow fiber fabrication and Mixed matrix membranes (MMM). He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles and a couple of patents.

Srivatsa is leading CCAST’s industrial projects and supporting graduate students.
